Introduction Congratulations on purcha sing this Wireless Broadband R outer. This Wireless Broadband Router is a cost-e ffectiv e IP Sharing Router that enables multiple users to share the Internet through an ADSL or cabl e modem.

Service Name This is optional. Enter the S ervice name should your ISP requires it, otherw ise leave it blank. MTU This is optional. You ca n specify th e maximum size o f your transmission p acket to the In ternet. Leave it as it is if you to n ot wish to set a maximu m packet size .

Type in this MAC address in this section or use the "Clone MAC Address" button to replace the WAN MAC address with the MAC address of tha t PC (you have to be usi ng that PC for the Clone MAC Address button to work). To find out the PC's MAC address see Appendix A.
If you select “Manu al”, the router w ill connect to ISP only when you click “Conne ct” manually from the Web user interface. The WAN connection w ill not be disconnected due to the idle timeout. If the WAN line breaks down and latter links again, the router will not auto-connect to the ISP.

Once you have made a selection, click < More Configur ation> at the bottom of the screen and proceed to th e manual’s relevant sub -section 2.

DHCP Server Enabled Y ou can enable or disable the DHCP server. By enabling the DHCP server the router will automatically give your LAN clients an IP address.

Data Rate The “Data Rate ” is the rate thi s access point uses to transmit data packe ts. The access point will u se the highest possible selected tran smission rate to transmit the da ta pack ets.
2.4.3.1 WEP only When you select 64 -bit or128-bit WEP key, y ou have to enter WEP keys to encrypt data. Y ou can generate the key by yourself and enter it.
Key 1 - Key 4 The WEP keys are used to encryp t data transmi tted in the wireless network. Fill the text box by following the rules : 64-bit WEP: input 10-digi t Hex values (in the "A-F ", "a-f" and "0-9" range) or 5-digi t ASCII character as the encryption keys.

Edit a QoS rule Select the rule y ou want to edit and click “Edit”, then you will enter the detail form of the QoS rule. Click “Apply” after editing the form and the rule will be saved. Adjust QoS rule pri ority You can select the rule and click “Move Up” to make its priority higher.
Bandwidth You can assign the download or upload bandw idth by the unit of Kbps (1024 bi t per second) . You can limit the maximum bandwidth con sumed by this rule by selecting “Maximum”. Y ou also can reserv e enough bandwidth for thi s rule by selecting “Guarantee”.

2.6.2 Virtual Server You can have differ ent services (e .g. email, FTP, Web etc.) going to di fferent service servers/clients in your LAN . The Virtual Server allows you to re-dir ect a particu lar service port number (from the Internet/WAN Port) to a par ticular LAN IP addre ss and its service port number.
Parameter Description Enable Port Forwarding Enable Port Forwarding Private IP This is the priv ate IP of the serv er behind the NAT firewall. Note: You need to giv e your LAN PC clients a fixed/static IP address for Por t Forwarding to work properly.

Parameters Description Deny If select “Deny” then all PCs w ill be allowed to access Internet accept for the PCs in the list below. Allow If select “Allow” then all PCs will be denied to access Internet accept for the PCs in the list below. Filter client PCs by IP Fill “IP Filterin g Table” to filter PC client s by IP.
Add PC Fill in “Client PC MAC Address” a nd “Comment” of the P C that is allowed to access the Internet, and then click “Add ”. If you find any typo before adding i t and want to re type again, just click "Reset" and the field s will be cleared.
Note: You need to giv e your LAN PC clients a fixed/static IP address for the A ccess Control rule to work properly . Client PC Service You can block the clients from accessing some Internet services by ch ecking the services you want to block. Protocol This allows you to select UDP, TCP or both protocol type y ou want to block.
2.7.2 URL Blocking You can block acce ss to some Web sites from par ticular PCs by entering a full URL address or just key word of the Web site. Parameters Description Enable URL Blocking Enable/disable UR L Blocking Add URL Keyword Fill in “URL/Keyword” and then click “Add”.
2.7.3 DoS (Denial of Service) The Broadband router's firewall can block common hacker attacks, including Denial of Serv ice, Ping of Death, Port Scan and Sy nc Flood.
2.7.4 DMZ If you have a local clien t PC that cann ot run an Internet a pplication (e.g. Games) properly fr om behind the NAT fir ewall, then y ou can open the client up to u nrestricted two-way In ternet acce ss by defining a DMZ Host.
2.8 VPN Virtual Private Netw ork (VPN) provi des a secure, private communication tunnel between `tw o or more dev ices across the Internet. These VPN devices can be e ither a computer running VPN softw are or a special device like a VPN e nabled router.
Chapter 3 Status The Status section allows you to monito r the current status of y our router. You can use the Status page to moni tor: the connectio n status of the Broadband router's WAN/LAN in.

3.4 System Log View the operation log of the sy stem. Parameters Description System Log This page shows the cu rrent system l og of the Broadband router.
3.5 Security Log View any attempts that have been made to illegally gain access to your network. Parameters Description Security Log This page shows the cu rrent securi ty log of the Broadband router. It di splays any illegal attemp ts to access your netw ork.
3.6 Active DHCP Client View your LAN client's informatio n that is curren tly linked to th e Broadband router's DHCP server Parameters Description Active DHCP Client This page s hows all DHCP clients (LAN PCs) currently connected to your netw ork.
3.7 Statistics View the statistics of packets sent and receiv ed on WAN, LAN and Wireless LAN. Parameters Description Statistics Shows th e counter s of packets sen t and received on WAN, LAN and Wireless LAN.
Chapter 4 Tool This page includes the basic configu ration tools, such as Configura tion Tools (save or restore configura tion settings), Firmware Upgrade (up grade system firmwa re) and Reset.
4.1 Configuration Tools The Configuration Tools screen allows you to save ( Backup ) the router’s current configuration setting . Saving the configurati on settings provides an added protection a nd convenience should pro blems occur with the r outer and you have to re set to factory default.
