11 Installation instructions Installation instructions: 1 Ensure the refrigerat or is NOT plugged into a po wersupply. 2 Locate a c old water supply/feed only suitable f or a water connection.
12 Installation instructions 11 Attach double sided foam t o the back of the water filter head as shown in Diag ram 5. Write the date to be replac ed on the filter (date installed +6 months). Remove double sided foam backing and attach filter to the desired position as located in step 10 (ref er to previous page).

Ensure white ¼” (6 mm) tubing is routed aw ay from sharp objects, sharp corners (beware of kinking tube as this will stop water flow), clear of the refriger ator unit compartment and not in a location where it can be squ ashed.
14 Installation instructions Before y ou star t using your Ice & W ater refrigera tor Check your refrigerat or is switched on and has cooled for at least 2 hours bef ore use (refer t o page 21 – The temperatur e of your refrigerator and fr eezer).

Installation (all models) Y our Fisher & P aykel ActiveSmart™ refrigerator is fitted with front and r ear rollers, designed for moving the pr oduct in the for wards and backwards direction. Av oid moving the product in a sideways direction as this may damage the rollers or the floor covering/surface.
16 Installation instructions 9. What to do if y our product is unstable A Gently push the refrigerator back until the r ear rollers contact the floor . Measure the gap under the front f oot, which has come off the floor . Obtain some solid packing material (hardwood, plastic,etc) which fits firmly into the gap under the foot.
17 Installation instructions Before placing f ood in the fresh food or freez er compar tments Remove all internal packaging. Ensur e that all transit clips are remov ed from the refrigerator . These are small rubber stoppers locat ed at the back of the shelves.
18 Moving or storing y our appliance If your refrigerator is turned off f or any reason, wait 10 minutes bef ore turning it back on. This will allow the refrigeration sy stem pressures to equalize bef ore restarting. Moving your r efrigerator T urn off the appliance and unplug from the pow er point.
19 Door con version ActiveSmart ™ refrigerator models with silver handles need to be or dered at the point of purchase either with left or right opening doors and can not be interchanged. All other models need to have an appr opriate conv ersion k it for that model r efrigerator .

21 ActiveSmart™ operating instructions Fr esh food compartment (all models) The fresh f ood compar tment light will automatically be illuminated. The temper ature for this compartment will show as a series of lights. The temperatur e may be altered by pr essing the or buttons.
22 ActiveSmart™ operating instructions Key Mute (all models) KEY MUTE allows you to silenc e all button presses. T o activate KEY MUTE and silence buttons, press and hold the button for 4 seconds . The icon on the internal contr ol panel will be illuminated.
23 ActiveSmart™ operating instructions Special F unctions Bottle Chill (Elegance, Desig ner and Ice & W ater models only) This function allows you to chill y our beverages more rapidly in the fr eezer without the worry of forgetting about them.
24 Using y our water dispenser (Ic e & W ater models only) All about the external display (Ic e & W ater models only) This screen enables you t o lock the water dispenser , indicates to you when BO T TLE CHILL is activated and when your water filt er requires changing .
25 Using y our water dispenser (Ic e & W ater models only) Dispensing Y our water dispenser has been designed f or one -handed operation. T o dispense water push the dispensing pad gently , using a glass or container . T his pad requires only a gentle press t o activate.
26 W ater filter (Ice & W ater models only) All the water to y our refrigerator is filter ed to remove impurities through a filt er car tridge located in a position of your choice outside the refrigera tor . This will need changing appr oximately every 6months.
27 W ater filter (Ice & W ater models only) T o reset the filter indica tor Impor tant! W e recommend the water filt er to be used from the time of installation. Do not reset indicator before filter is changed or filter monitoring will be inac curate.
28 Using y our ice maker (Ic e & W ater models only) Ice On/Off Y our ice maker is designed to automatically dispense ic e until it senses that the bin is full. So the more ice y ou use, the more it makes. It is even clever enough to sense when ther e is no bin in place to catch the ic e and it will not dispense any ice.
29 Using y our ice maker (Ic e & W ater models only) Information about y our ice maker Y our automatic ice maker will produce appr oximately eight cubes of ic e ever y 3 – 4 hours, depending on the freezer compartment temperatur e and the number of door openings.
30 ActiveSmart™ special features (all models) Fruit and v egetable bins and humidity control lid The fruit and vegetable bins f eature a unique lid which provides two functions: The humidity lid seals the bins and provides a humid microclima te to extend storage times of fruit and vegetables.
31 ActiveSmart™ special features (all models) Slim storage dr awer (where fitt ed) The slim bins at the bottom of the fresh f ood compartment provide storage space f or items that you may want t o keep separate from the rest of the refrigerator . These slim storage bins can be used for deli item storage , beverages or for defrosting f oods.

35 Cleaning and caring for y our refriger ator Humidity Control S ystem Impor tant! When cleaning the shelf above the vegetable bins, we recommend that y ou do not disassemble the Humidity Control System from the shelf .
36 Cleaning and caring for y our refriger ator T o remo ve tray s or fixed bins F or ease of removal, empty food fr om tray/bin first. Hold the center fron t of the tray/bin handle. Lift vertically to unclip from the runners and pull tray/bin tow ards you to remo ve.
37 Storing f ood in your r efrigerator Y our refrigerator helps to extend the stor age times of fresh perishable foods. The cold temperature slo ws down the major causes of food spoilage – namely , the growth of bacteria, moulds and yeasts, and an y chemical and physical reactions.
38 Storing f ood in your r efrigerator Red meat Place fresh r ed meat on a plate and loosely cover with w axed paper , plastic wrap or foil . Store cooked and r aw meat on separate plates . This will prevent an y juices lost from the ra w meat contaminating the cooked product.
39 Storing f ood in your fr eezer The use of temperatur es of -0.4°F (-18°C) or colder to store f ood means that the food can be kept for longer periods than when refrigeration t emperatures are used.
40 Storing f ood in your fr eezer Meat, poultry and game Do not tr y to freez e more than 2.2pound (1 kg) meat per 6.6gal (25 L) or 0.88 cubic feet of freez er storage volume at any one time . Meat must be frozen quickly in order to maintain its t exture.
41 ActiveSmart™ user warnings and sounds User warnings F aults In the unlikely event a fault occurs the icon will illuminate on the internal c ontrol panel and an alarm will sound when the fresh food compartment door is opened. Please count the number of beeps made when the fresh f ood compartment door is opened.
