You can a lso d isplay it by tapping Today on the Start menu. The Toda y screen displa ys all the important information about your da y.

You use the stylus to write in the Input panel, just as if you were writing on a piece of paper.

On the Start menu, tap Settings , tap the Syst em tab, and then tap the About icon. 3. Set the number of partnership s your HP Jornada will have.

If the desktop PC uses Windows NT or Windo ws 2000, you must install and configur e Remote Acc ess Services.
40 | HP Jornada 520 Series User ’ s Guide You cannot open doc uments or start programs stored on your HP Jorn ada by double-clicking their icons in the Mobile Device window on your desktop PC. Double-clicking an icon d isplays the properti es for that file.

Chapter 4 | Connecting to the Internet | 49 Before you can use a modem to connect to an ISP or to dial in to a specific desktop PC, you must create a connectio n for that service o n your HP Jornada. If you use an NIC to connect to a corporate net work, you must configure your net work connection.

If your ISP or account administrator provided specific settin g s, such as IP addresses or DNS addresses, enter thi s information on the appropriate tab, and then tap OK . 5. On the Identification tab, enter your user name, pass word, and the domain (if required).

They are stored in the Channels subfol der in the Mobile Favorites folder of your Microsoft Internet Explorer folder and are d ownloaded to yo ur HP Jornada during synchro nizati on.

If you want to download the pages that are linked to the mobile favorite you just created, in Internet E xplorer on the desktop PC, right-click the mobile favorite and then click Properties .

Follo w these tips to minimize the amount of memor y used: • Turn off pictures and sounds or stop some mobil e favorites from being downloaded to your HP Jorn ada.

Chapter 4 | Connecting to the Internet | 57 You can work with e-mail messages o nline or offline. When working online, you read and respond to mes sages while co nnected to the e-mail server. Messages are sent as soon as you tap Send , which saves space on your device.

If your messages are still linke d to messages on your e-mail serv er or desktop P C, they will be stored in the Deleted (local) folder. If your messages were downloaded dir ectl y from an e-mail server, they will be deleted from both your HP Jornada a nd the e-mail server.

When you send a file as a n attachment, be sure the message recipie nt ca n read the type of file you are sending. If the recipient does not have a W indows- powered Pocket PC, be sure you save the fil e in an alternative format.

If your HP Jornada runs out of po wer, all information you have entered is lost.

You can create ne w documents on your HP Jornada, or you can copy documents from your desktop PC to your HP Jornada.
