GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 9 • The chain brake (A) can either be activ ated manually (by y our left hand) or automatically by the iner tia release mechanism. • The brake is applied when the front hand guard (B) is pushed f orw ards or when the right-hand brake trigger (E) is pushed up and forw ards.

GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 13 • Bar groov e width (inches/mm). The groo ve in the bar must match the width of the chain drive links. • Chain oil hole and hole for chain tensioner . GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 14 – English data for inf ormation on the size of file and gauge that are recommended for the chain fitted to y our chain saw . • Check that the chain is correctly tensioned. A slack chain will mov e sidewa ys, making it more difficult to sharpen correctly .
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 15 • Loosen the bar nuts that hold the clutch cov er/chain brake . Use the combination spanner . Then tighten the bar nuts by hand as tight as y ou can. • Raise the tip of the bar and stretch the chain by tightening the chain tensioning scre w using the combination spanner .
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 16 – English • Check that the bar tip sproc ket turns freely and that the lubricating hole in the tip sprocket is not b locked.
ASSEMBL Y English – 17 Fitting the bar and chain Check that the chain brak e is in disengaged position by moving the front hand guard tow ards the front handle. Remov e the bar n uts and remo v e the clutch cover (chain br ake). T ake off the transportation r ing (A).
FUEL HANDLING 18 – English Fuel Note! The machine is equipped with a two-stroke engine and must alwa ys be run using a mixture of gasoline and two-stroke oil. It is important to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mixed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained.
FUEL HANDLING English – 19 Fueling Clean the area around the fuel cap . Clean the fuel and chain oil tanks regularly . The fuel filter must be replaced at least once a year . Contamination in the tanks causes malfunction. Make sure the fuel is well mix ed by shaking the container before refuelling.
ST ARTING AND ST OPPING 20 – English Starting and stopping Cold engine Starting: The chain brake should be activated when star ting the chain sa w. Activ ate the chain brake by pushing the front hand guard forw ards. Ignition; choke: Set the choke control in the choke position.

W ORKING TECHNIQUES 22 – English Bef ore use: 1 Check that the chain brak e w orks correctly and is not damaged. 2 Check that the rear right hand guard is not damaged. 3 Check that the throttle loc kout works correctly and is not damaged. 4 Check that the stop s witch works correctly and is not damaged.
W ORKING TECHNIQUES English – 23 cause you to lose control. Both situations can cause serious personal injur y . 6 Before mo ving your chain saw s witch off the engine and loc k the chain using the chain brak e. Carr y the chain saw with the bar and chain pointing bac kwards .

If the saw chain is jamming, the saw ma y be pushed back at y ou. 8 Unless the user resists this pushing force there is a r isk that the chain saw will mov e so far bac kwards that only the kickbac k zone of the bar is in contact with the tree, which can lead to a kickbac k.
W ORKING TECHNIQUES English – 25 Cut difficult branches piece by piece . Cutting If you ha ve a pile of logs, each log you attempt to cut should be remov ed from the pile, placed on a saw horse or runners and cut individually . Remov e the cut pieces from the cutting area.
W ORKING TECHNIQUES 26 – English Mak e sure that no-one else is in this ”risk zone” before or during felling. Felling direction The aim is to f ell the tree in a position where you can limb and cross-cut the log as easily as possible. Y ou want it to fall in a location where y ou can stand and move about safely .
W ORKING TECHNIQUES English – 27 Directional cuts T o make the directional cut you begin with the top cut. Aim using to the saw’ s felling direction mark (1) tow ard a goal fur ther f orward in the terrain, where you would lik e the tree to fall (2).
W ORKING TECHNIQUES 28 – English much greater risk that the kickbac k zone of the bar will come into contact with the tree. Freeing a tree that has fallen badl y Freeing a ”trapped tree” It is very dangerous to remov e a trapped tree and there is high accident risk.
W ORKING TECHNIQUES English – 29 Kickbac k always occurs in the cutting plane of the bar . Normally the chain saw and bar are thrown backw ards and upwards tow ards the user. How ever , the chain saw may mo v e in a diff erent direction depending on the w a y it was being used when the kickbac k zone of the bar touched the object.
MAINTENANCE 30 – English General The user must only carry out the maintenance and service work descr ibed in this manual. Carburetor adjustment Due to existing en vironmental and emissions legislation your chain sa w is equipped with movement limiters on the carburetor adjuster scre ws.
MAINTENANCE English – 31 ev er y position. It should also be good margin to the rpm when the chain star ts to rotate. High speed jet H At the factory the engine is adjusted at sea level.
MAINTENANCE 32 – English that the bar drops tow ards the stump as the chain saw rotates around the rear handle. When the bar hits the stump the brake should be applied. Checking the right-hand brake trigger Chec k that the right hand guard is not damaged and that there are no visible def ects, such as cracks .
MAINTENANCE English – 33 • Check that the throttle control and throttle loc kout mov e freely and that the return springs work properly . • Star t the chain sa w and apply full throttle. Release the throttle control and chec k that the chain stops and remains stationary .
MAINTENANCE 34 – English Some mufflers are equipped with a special spark arrestor screen. If your machine has this type of muffler , you should clean the screen at least once a week. This is best done with a wire brush. A block ed screen will cause the engine to ov erheat and may lead to serious damage.
MAINTENANCE English – 35 Note! Check that the pulle y can be tur ned an additional 1/2 turn when the star ter cord is pulled all the wa y out. Replacement of br oken recoil and drive disc springs Recoil spring (A) • Lift up the star ter pulle y . See instructions under the heading Changing a broken or worn starter cord.
MAINTENANCE 36 – English Lubricating the bar tip sproc ket Lubricate the bar tip sprocket each time y ou refuel. Use the special grease gun and a good quality bearing grease. Needle bearing lubrication The clutch drum has a needle bearing on the output shaft.
MAINTENANCE English – 37 ”Air Injection” centrifugal cleaning Centrifugal cleaning means the following: All air to the carburetor passes through the starter. Dirt and dust is pushed out by the cooling f an. IMPORT ANT! In order to maintain operation of the centr ifugal cleaning system it must be regularly maintained.
