Power Mac G4 Video Card - 2 6. T ouch the metal PCI access cov ers on the back of the computer . (Figure 1) Important: To avoid electrostatic discharge, always ground yourself by touching the port access covers before you touch any parts or install any components inside the computer.
Power Mac G4 Video Card - 3 Removing the Installed Card Important: Video cards are either accelerated graphics por t (A GP) cards or peripheral component interconnect (PCI) cards. These cards fit into expansion slots located on the logic board. The steps f or replacing both types of cards are similar .
Power Mac G4 Video Card - 4 3. If you are remo ving an A GP video card, pull bac k the tab on the video card retaining clip to release the card. Then gently pull the card up , and remo v e it from the A GP e xpansion slot. (Figure 3) W arning: T o av oid damaging the logic boar d or the A GP slot, do not roc k the card when remo ving it.
