2 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Unpack the Ice Maker Removing Pack aging Materials Remove tape and glue fr om your ic e maker before usin g. ■ T o remove any r emaining tape or glue from the exterior of the ice maker , rub the ar ea briskly with your thumb .
3 Electrical Requirement s Befor e you move your ice maker in to its f inal loc ation, it is important to make sure you have the proper electrical connection : A 115 V olt, 60 Hz., AC only , 15- or 20-amp electri cal su pply , properly grounded in accordance with th e National Elect rical Code and local codes and ordina nces, is required.
4 Connect W ater Suppl y Read all di rections before you begin. IMPORT ANT : ■ Plumbi ng shall be in stall ed in accordance wit h the Inter nati onal Plu mbing Co de and any lo cal codes an d or dinance s. ■ Use coppe r tubi ng or Wh irlpool supp ly lin e, Part Num ber 8212547 RP , and check for lea ks.
5 Dr ain Connection Gravity Drain Sy stem Connect the ice maker d rain to your dra in in accordance with all state and loc al codes and ordinances. If the ice maker is provided with a grav ity drai n system, follow these guide lines when inst alling d rain lin es.
6 Ice Maker Door T ools needed: Gat her the r equ ir ed tools an d parts befor e st art ing insta lla tion . Remov e door 1. Unplug ice maker or disconn ect power . 2. Remove t he handl e scr ews and handle ( on some mod els). Keep the parts t ogether and set th em aside.
7 Rever se Door C atch 1. Remove the hole plugs from t he opposite side of the door and set as ide. 2. Remove the sc rews fr om the magnetic door catch and replace it on the opp osite sid e of the door . 3. Push the h ole plugs into plac e on the opposite side of the door .
8 3. The water containi ng the rejected minerals is drained after each freezing cycle. 4. Fresh water enters t he machine for t he next ice making cycle. 5. Cubes fall int o the st orage bin . When t he bin is full, the ice maker shuts off automatical ly and restarts when more ice is needed.
9 7. Press and hold the CLE AN button. See “Usin g the Controls.” The light wi ll bl ink, in dica ting that the cl eaning cycl e is in process. When th e indicator li ght tur ns green (approxima tely 70 minutes), the cleaning cy cle is compl ete. During t he cleaning cyc le, the system will both clean an d rinse itse lf.
10 9. Remove, clean an d replace the ice sc oop and ice scoop holde r . ■ After re moving the ic e scoop, remov e the holder by r emovin g the two thu mb scr ews . ■ W ash the ice scoop holder along with the other interior components us ing the foll owing instructi ons.

12 Ice maker runs but p roduces very little ice ■ Is the room temperature hotter than normal? Room tempera ture s of mor e th an 90°F (32°C ) will normally r educe ice production. ■ Is the condenser dirty? Dirt or lint may be blocking t he airflow through the con denser .
