7 SECTION 3: ASSEMBL Y INSTRUCTIONS On some units, the D-handle may be pre-installed, requiring only loosening screws and some adjustment. If this is the case, go to step 4. Installing and Adjusting the D-handle 1. Remove the screws and bottom clamp piece that were installed on the D-handle for shipping.
8 SECTION 4: OIL AND FUEL INFORMA TION WARNING: Gasoline is extremely flammable. Ignited vapors may explode. Always stop the engine and allow it to cool before filling the fuel tank. Do not smoke while filling the tank. Keep sparks and open flames at a distance from the area.
9 SECTION 5: ST ARTING/ST OPPING INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: Operate this unit only in a well- ventilated outdoor area. Carbon monoxide exhaust fumes can be lethal in a confined area . WARNING: Avoid accidental starting. Make sure you are in the starting position when pulling the starter rope.
10 For edging (when using the line head cutting attachment with EZ-Link™ models), lock the release button of the cutting attachment into the 90° edging hole or the 180° edging hole. See Figure 11.
