Section 2 Mounting – Oasis™ Hea ting Module 2.1 Bef or e Y ou Begin Plan the location of the Oasis™ Heating Module a nd all its major components in advance to ensure the chosen lo cations are compatible with insta llation requirements and within the technical specifications.

If the system is not i nstalled according to specifications and with the correct equipment, your Oasis™ Heating Modu le may not operate properly, safety may be comprom ised, and your Warranty may be voided.
Section 2, Mounting the Oasis™ Heating Module • Combustion air must be drawn from an outside source and cannot contain any combustible gase s. • Oasis™ Heating Module mu st be mounted in an area tha t provides unrestricted access to the front panel.
Section 2, Mounting the Oasis™ Heating Module parts that may cau se injury through a ccidental contact should be protected. Isolate the unit in a closed compartment so that no air from the heater will infiltrate the living areas.

Installing the Exhaust System 3.1 Befo r e Y ou Be gin For efficient and safe operation of the Oasis™ Heating Module follow all recommendation s for properly inst alling the exhaust.
Section 3, Installing the Exhaust System • In a coach, the typical mounting location for the exhau st outlet is under the floor of the Oasis™ Heatin g Module compartment, or on the other side of the coach, directly across from the mod ule.
Section 3, Installing the Exhaust System • Use an ITR-manufa ctured muffler w ith a straight-through design. No other mu ffler is acc eptable. • Exhaust outlet is on the top or bottom ( model dependant) of the Oasis™ Heating Module, towards the back.
Section 3, Installing the Exhaust System band clamps are recommen ded for joining flex and solid tubing as they apply firm, even pressure. • In a coach, install a n exhaust collar on the exhaust pipe to isolate the pip e from the coach fra me.
Section 3, Installing the Exhaust System 5 Connect the flexible air-intake tubing (2” I.D.) to the air- intake fitting on top of the hea ter. Use a #32 gear clam p to attach the tubin g to this fitting.

Installing the Fuel System 4.1 Befo r e Y ou Be gin For efficient and safe ope ration of the Oasis™ Heating M odule, follow all recommendations for properly installing the fuel system . Any deviations from these must be approved in advance by ITR. Use only diesel fuel, furnace oil, or sto ve oil in the Oasis™ Heating Module.
Section 4, Installing the Fuel System recommended size for the fuel line is ¼” I.D. The fuel return line should return to the fuel supply tank. The following is recommended for the fuel system installation : The fuel supply from the fuel storage tank to the fuel in let must be from a dedicated fuel pickup on the top of the tan k.
Section 4, Installing the Fuel System Ensure that fuel lines are always protected from co ntamination by foreign material. When installing or servicing, seal off ends to prevent contamination. After instal ling, you may also wish to flush the fuel line to rid of it air and any foreign material.

Installing F an Hea ter s – with “Distribution Module” Onl y 5.1 Befo r e Y ou Be gin ITR makes a variety of fan heaters for individual cabins or areas. There are Cabin heaters and Spacesaver heaters (where space is limited). The se heaters draw as little as 0.
Section 5, Installing Fan Heaters 5.2 F an System Oper ation ITR fans consist of a 12 VDC brushless fan and heater coil similar to a radiator. When the heater unit comes on, the fan draws ambient air from the interior, blows it through the heater coil and back into the interior thr ough a vent.
Section 5, Installing Fan Heaters • If a “passive” radia nt heat system is desired (i.e. baseboar d or fin and tube conf igurations ), consult ITR for recommended in stallation procedures and de sign. Multiple Zone Heating The Oasis™ Heating Module can supply heat up to five interior zones using the Distribution Module (Optional).

W iring the Electrical System 6.1 Befo r e Y ou Be gin The Oasis™ Heating Module and its electrical Control Board are pre- wired and have been thoroughly tested together as a unit. To review the wiring system for the Oasis™ Heatin g Module, refer to the wiring diagram at the end of this Section 6, Figure 6-1: System Wiring .
Section 6, Wiring the Electrical System 6.3 120 V A C • The Oasis™ Heating Module is equipp ed with two 1500 watt, 120 VAC immersion elements (oth er voltages and frequencies are available). The connections for the electrica l supply are on the top left side of the Oasis™ Heating Module, under a cover, labeled AC power.

Section 6, Wiring the Electrical System 6.7 W ha t NO T to Do Never shut off the Oasis™ Heating Module power via an inline battery or master switch while the system is running. Never disconnect the battery when the Oasis™ Heating Module is ru nning, and never disconnect the battery while the inverter is charging.
Plumbing the System 7.1 Befo r e Y ou Be gin For efficient and safe ope ration of the Oasis™ Heating M odule, follow all recommen dations for properly installin g the plumbing system.
Section 7, Plumbing the System Ensure a four (4) quart minimum overflo w bottle is attached to the filler neck. • The return and supply coolant plumbing conne ctions are on the top of the Oasis™ Heating Module an d are 1/2” male NPT fittings.

Section 7, Plumbing the System • Use heavy-duty heater hose or PEX tubing. Slip-on foam insulation coverings may be u s ed over th e hose fittings to red uce heat loss.
Section 7, Plumbing the System 3 If the Distribution Module is not utilized , connect the cabin fan heater supply lines to th e supply coolant “Outlet” fro m the Oasis™ Heating Module. En sure there are no kinks or sharp bends that might restrict the fluid flow.

Section 8 Oper a ting the Oasis™ Hea ting Module This section describes the fe atures, operation and maintenance of your new Oasis™ Heating Module.
Section 8, Operating the Heating Module • Low pressure fuel system with built-in fuel pump. • Fuel efficient burner capable of burning a wide variety of diesel-based fu els. • Exhaust has minimal smoke and smell. • Fan assisted sealed combustion is designed to use outside combustion air.
Section 8, Operating the Heating Module number identifies the model type throu gh the first series of letters and numbers. The two types of Oasis™ Heating Mo dules are: CH50 – Oasis™ Heating Module 50 CH35 (“CSA Certification Pending”) – Oasis™ Heating Modul e 35 8.
Section 8, Operating the Heating Module 8.4 T ur ning the P o w er to the Oasis™ Hea ting Module ON • The Oasis™ Heating Module’s main Control Panel, Figure 8- 2: Heating Module Main Control Panel , located on the front of the module contains three push buttons: ON/OFF power, Bypass, and Reset.
Section 8, Operating the Heating Module 8.5 Activating the Burner (Primary) and AC Heat (Secondary) from the Remote Operating Panel Activating the Burner (Primary Hea t Source) • The burner switch on the Remote Ope ratin g Panel controls the ON/OFF of the diesel burner (primary heat source).
Section 8, Operating the Heating Module Activating the Burner and AC immersion Element(s) Jointly • Turn the burner switch ON and place the AC power switch on the Remote Operating Panel to either the one element or two element position.
Section 8, Operating the Heating Module • Turn the engine preheat switch on the Remote Operating Panel to the ON position with the burner or AC switch on. The engine preheat pump and coolant pump will be act ivated once the Oasis™ Heating Modu le is in its set operating te mperature range.
Section 8, Operating the Heating Module Burner Switch (Primary Heat Source) • The burner switch on the remote panel controls the O N/OFF o f the diesel burner.
Section 8, Operating the Heating Module • When ON, indicates the space heating zone(s) has faulted. The specific fault can be identified by examining the Distribution Module Zone Control Panel (optional ) located beside the Oasis™ Heating Mo dule.
Section 8, Operating the Heating Module Compressor, Fuel Pump, Combustion Fan, Igniter (Gree n) • The compressor, fuel pump, co mbustion fan, and ig niter LED’s (Green) turn ON when the component is ON, and will flash i f the component is electrically open or sho rted.

Section 8, Operating the Heating Module 8.12 Maintenance Customer Monthly Maintena nce : Check the fol lowing and correct as require d: • Coolant hoses and fittings for leaks and integrity. • Check coolant level in the o verflow bottle (3/4 full when hot).
Section 8, Operating the Heating Module Finally, the burner and counter-flow tube must b e taken out by r emoving the nuts hol ding th e burner box in position. If the tube is satisfactory, a thorough cleaning of the tube and burner chamber should be perfo rmed by blowing out and vacuuming any ash and carbon buildup.

Installing the Distribution Module, DM12 Thank you for purchasing the Distribution Module, DM12. This section descri bes its installation. 9.1 Installing y our Distribution Module Equipment, T ools and Skills As the Installer, you must be qualified and authorized to do the installation which requires me ch anical and electrical knowledge.
Section 9, Installing the Distribution Module • Module must be mounted using four, 1/4” through bolts using 1” diameter fender washers, lock was hers and nuts. The module must be m ounted in the position as shown against a wall or on the floor. Figure 9-1: Distribution Module, DM12 9.
Section 9, Installing the Distribution Module • The Distribution Module is connected to the Distribution Module Zone Control Board through the electrical connections located at the bottom of the Zone Con trol Board box. The distance apart is dictated by th e length of the 9 pin connector cord used.
Section 9, Installing the Distribution Module • The Domestic water connections are located on top of the module. The Cold water supply can be connected using a ½” NPT fitting. The maximu m water supply pre ssure to the module is 150 PS I (10 bar).

Section 9, Installing the Distribution Module Figure 9-7: Connecting two Heating loops. Use only a non-toxic propylene glycol ba sed coolant with additives generally recognized a s safe ”GRAS” by the FDA in the coolant side of the Distribution Module.
Section 9, Installing the Distribution Module inlet of a diaphragm pump and place the hose in a container filled with a 50/50 mixture of pr opyl ene glycol and wate r (see Figure 9-8). 2. Connect a hose to the “fill outlet valve” on the distribution module and place the other end of the hose in the same container.
Section 9, Installing the Distribution Module 6. Once the coolant in the contain er remains at the same level and there appears to be no air in the return stream from the fill outlet hose, close the va lves on the distribution mo dule and stop the diaphragm pump.
