K-40 Drain Cleaner Ridge Tool Company 6 Machine Assembly WARNING To prevent serious injury, proper assembly of the Drain Cleaner is required. The following proce- dures should be followed: Instructions For Mounting Autofeed T o K-40 1. Attach the autofeed mounting bracket to the front frame of the K-40 with the bolts provided (Figure 5) .
Ridge Tool Company 7 5. Secure autofeed to guide hose using the four (4) screws provided with the autofeed. Machine Inspection 1. Make sure the Drain Cleaning Machine is unplugged and the directional switch is set to the OFF position. 2. Make sure the foot switch is present and attached to the Drain Cleaning Machine (Figures 10 and 11) .
K-40 Drain Cleaner Ridge Tool Company 8 8. Inspect cables and couplings for wear and damage. Cables should be replaced when they become severely worn or corroded. A worn cable can be iden- tified when the outside coils become flat or having several kinks throughout the cable.
Ridge Tool Company 9 To avoid electric shock and electrical fires, never use an extension cord that is damaged or does not meet the following requirements: • The cord has pins on line plug that are similar in size and shape to those of the plug on the charger.

Ridge Tool Company 11 5. Feed cable into drain until obstruction is encountered or cable begins to bind up. 6. If cable begins to bind up, release feed actuator lever and pull cable back slightly by hand.
K-40 Drain Cleaner Ridge Tool Company 12 3. Separate the drum front from the drum back by twist- ing apart (Figure 19) . 4. Lift the inner drum, with cable, out of its cradled fit. 5. Fit the new inner drum into the drum back and draw about a foot of cable out of the inner drum (Figure 20) .

Enfilez la partie expos é e du c â ble à travers la fa ç ade du tambour, alignez la fa ç ade avec le dos du tambour, puis vissez la fa ç ade du tambour en place.
