8_ overview over view FEA TURES The DVR employs H.264 video encoding for 8 or 16 channel inputs and G.711 audio encoding for 8 or 16 channels while simultaneously supports hard disc r ecording and playback. These DVRs also supports network connectivity , providing r emote monitoring from a r emote PC transferring video and audio data.

J ` Y ou can connect and control the PTZ camera which supports the RS-485 communication. ` Check if the RS-485 device is compatible with the product first.

English _21 ! LIVE live GETTING ST ARTED Starting the system 1. Connect the power cable of the DVR to the wall outlet. M ` It takes about 10 seconds to display the start screen after booting. 2. Y ou will see the initialization screen. The initialization process will last about 1 minute.
22_ live live Login T o access a DVR or restricted menu, you should have logged in to the DVR. 1. In live mode, right-click any area of the scr een. Y ou will see the context sensitive menu as in the right figure. 2. Click < Login >. The login dialog appears.
English _23 ! LIVE LIVE SCREEN CONFIGURA TION Icons on the Live Screen Y ou can check the status or operation of the DVR with the icons on the live screen. Name Description a Current Date , T ime Displays the current time and date. b Login Information When you are logged in, the “ LOG ON ” icon will be displayed.
24_ live live Name Description f Camera Name/ Channel Displays the camera name and the changed channel, if any . g Camera Operation Displays the resolution of the recording screen. (Page 53 ) Displayed in PTZ setting, and highlighted yellow if PTZ is in operation.

26_ live live Single Mode Menu The single mode menu is available only in Single Mode. The context sensitive menu for the One Channel mode, in Split mode is differ ent from that of the Single mode. Menu Description a Full Screen Select and click a desired channel in Split mode to switch to the full screen of the selected channel.
English _27 ! LIVE View the Launcher Menu The Launcher menu appears on the bottom of the live screen. 1. In Live mode, right-click to display the context menu and select < Show Launcher >. 2. Move the cursor to the bottom and click a desired item in the Launcher menu.
28_ live live LIVE MODE SDR-5100 display Live images from 16 channels in a total of 8 layout of split scr eens. Switching the screen mode T o switch the split mode, select a screen mode in the launcher menu, or right-click to select a screen mode in the context menu.
English _29 ! LIVE M ` In Single mode, If you ha ve set < SEQ-Dwell Time > in “ Setting the Device > Camera ”, Auto Sequence will be conducted at the set interval. (Page 45 ) ` In a split mode, If you have set < Multi CH SEQ Time > in “ Setting the Device > Monitor ”, Auto Sequence will be conducted at the set interval.
30_ live live Channel Setting Y ou can display the channel in a desired ar ea of a split screen. 1. Place the cursor over the camera name of each channel to display the < % > key to the right on the screen. 2. Click a camera name to display a channel list where you can select a dif ferent channel.
English _31 ! LIVE ZOOM This is available only in Single Live mode. In Single mode, select a desired ar ea and use the Zoom function to enlarge it twice. 1. Select < Zoom In > in the right-click menu. Press the [ ZOOM ] button on the r emote control, or simply click < > in the launcher menu.
32_ live live EVENT MONITORING This will display the channel in sync with a specific event (Motion/Video Loss) if it occurs. In “ Monitor > Event Display ”, set the event monitoring to ON/OFF and specify the event display time. (Page 50 ) • If multiple events occur simultaneously , the screen will switch to a split mode.
English _33 ! MAIN MENU Y ou can setup the system properties, devices, and options for recording, event, backup and network. SYSTEM SETUP Y ou can setup Date/Time/Language, Permission, System Properties and Log.
34_ main menu main menu • Date : Sets the date that will appear on the screen. Y ou can select the date format. • Time : Sets the time and its format that will appear on the screen. Select either one from < 24 Hours, 12 Hours (AM/PM) >.
English _35 ! MAIN MENU Setting Holiday Y ou can set specific dates to Holidays according to your pr eferences. Holidays are applied to < Recor ding Schedule > and < Alarm Schedule > too.
36_ main menu main menu Permission Management Y ou can set permissions of each user over the DVR's specific function and settings. Setting the Administrator Y ou can set and change Administrator’ s ID and password. The administrator can use and set all menu items and functions.
English _37 ! MAIN MENU Setting the Group Y ou can create user gr oups and setup permissions for those user groups. Y ou can register a user for each gr oup in < User >.
38_ main menu main menu T o restrict the user permissions If the admin restricts all permissions of an added gr oup, the users belonging to that group can access only the default minimum menus and can change the user’ s own password only . 1. Start the DVR.

English _57 ! MAIN MENU BACKUP Y ou can check the backup device and set the backup schedule by channel or by time. The product only supports external HDD of USB memory and USB type. (Page 112 ) Setting the Backup Y ou can backup the desired data to a connected device.

J ` The application may slow down during the backup. ` Y ou can switch to the menu screen during the backup in operation, but playback of data is not available.

When no router is used • Static IP mode - Inter net connection : Static IP ADSL, leased line, and LAN environments allows connection between the DVR and remote user .

MAIN MENU When a router is used J ` T o avoid IP address conflict with the DVR's sta tic IP , check followings : • Setting the DVR with a static IP - Internet connection : Y ou can connect the DVR to a router which is connected to an ADSL/Cable modem or a router in a Local Ar ea Network (LAN) environment.
