15 Connecting Cable TV T o connect to a cable TV system, follow the instructions below . Cable without a Cable Box ▼ 1 Plug the incoming cable into the VHF/UHF antenna terminal on back of the TV . Because this TV is cable-ready , you do not need a cable box to view unscrambled cable channels.
16 I NST ALLA TION ▼ This terminal might be labeled “ANT OUT ,” “VHF OUT ,” or simply , “OUT .” ▼ This terminal might be labeled “ ANT IN, ” “ VHF IN, ” or simply , “ IN. ” Connecting to a Cable Box that Descrambles All Channels 1 Find the cable that is con- nected to the ANTENNA OUT terminal on your cable box.
17 4 Connect a coaxial cable between the ANTENNA OUT terminal on the cable box and the B–IN terminal on the A/B switch. 5 Connect another cable between the other OUT terminal on the splitter and the A – IN terminal on the RF (A/B) switch.
18 I NST ALLA TION 3 Connect a coaxial cable between the ANTENNA OUT terminal on the VCR and the antenna terminal on the TV . 4 Connect a set of audio cables between the AUDIO OUT jacks on the VCR and the AUDIO jacks(A V1~A V3) on the TV . 5 Connect a video cable between the VIDEO OUT jack on the VCR and the VIDEO jack(A V1~A V3) on the TV .
19 I NST ALLA TION 3 Connect an S-video cable between the S-VIDEO OUT jack on the VCR and the S-VIDEO INPUT jack on the TV . An S-video cable is usually included with an S-VHS VCR. (If not, check your local electronics stor e.) Make sure the jacks you are using ar e underneath the number “ 1.

21 I NST ALLA TION Connecting a Digital TV Set-T op Box (480p/1080i) Connecting to Y ,Pb,Pr Connect the Y , P B , and P R video outputs of the set-top box to their corresponding inputs on the TV . Next, connect the Left and Right audio from the set-top box to the corresponding L and R terminals on the TV .
22 Connecting to DVI (Digital Visual Interface) (TXN3298HF/TXN3098WHF/ TXN2798HF) By inputting a high-bandwidth Digital Content Protection high-definition pictur e source to the DIGIT AL INPUT jack on the TV , high-definition pictures can be displayed on the screen in their digital form.
23 2 Connect an audio cable between the AUDIO OUT- PUT jack on the cam- corder and the AUDIO terminals on the TV . 3 Connect a video cable between the VIDEO OUT- PUT jack on the cam- corder and the VIDEO ter- minal on the TV . 1 Locate the A/V output jacks on the camcorder .
24 I NST ALLA TION ▼ 3 Replace the cover . Remove the batteries and store them in a cool, dry place if you won ’ t be using the remote contr ol for a long time. The remote contr ol can be used up to about 23 feet from the TV . (Assuming typical TV usage, the bat- teries last for about one year .
25 O PERA TION Chapter Three O PERA TION 1 Press the POWER button on the remote control. The message “Plug & Play” is displayed. It flickers for a little while and then the “Language” menu is automatically displayed. T urning the TV On and Off Press the POWER button on the remote control.
26 O PERA TION 4 Make sure that the antenna is connected to the TV . And then press the œ œ or √ √ button to activate "Auto Program" or press the MENU button to skip. (refer to “Auto program” on page 30.) 5 Press the ENTER button to move to the hour or minute.

29 O PERA TION Memorizing the Channels Y our TV can memorize and store all of the available channels for both “of f-air” (antenna) and cable channels. After the available channels are memorized, use the CH and CH buttons to scan through the channels.
30 O PERA TION 3 Press the ENTER button. The TV will begin memorizing all of the available channels. After all the available channels are stored, the Auto program menu reap- pears.
31 O PERA TION Adding and Erasing Channels (Manual Method) 1 Press the MENU button to display the menu. Press the ▼ button to select “Channel”, then press the ENTER button. 2 Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select “Add/Erase”, then press the ENTER but- ton.
32 O PERA TION Changing Channels Using the Channel Buttons 1 Press the CH or CH button to change channels. When you press CH or CH , the TV changes channels in sequence. Y ou will see all the channels that the TV has memorized. (The TV must have memorized at least three channels.
33 O PERA TION Labeling the Channels Use this feature to assign an easy-to-remember label to any channel (i.e., “CBS”, “ESPN”, “PBS2”, CNN1”, etc.) A label consists of four fields, where each field is a letter , a num- ber , “*”, or a blank.
34 O PERA TION Setting the Clock Setting the clock is necessary in order to use the various timer features of the TV . Also, you can check the time while watching the TV (Just press the INFO button). Option 1: Setting the Clock Manually 1 Press the MENU button to display the menu.

59 S PECIAL F EA TURES ▼ Misspellings and unusual characters sometimes occur during closed caption transmissions, especially those of live events. There may be a small delay before captions appear when you change channels. These are not malfunctions of the TV .

Note:The PIP feature does not work with DVD signals and S-V ideo mode. When PIP is selected in the Zoom mode, the Mode is automatically converted into the Normal mode.
