- 3 - INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND CARE OF HEAVY DUTY GAS GRIDDLES GENERAL Heavy Duty Gas Griddles are produce d with quality workmanship and mater ials. Proper installation, usa ge and maintena nce of your griddl e will result in many years of satisfa ctory perfo rmance.
- 4 - LOCATION The installa tion locati on must be kept fre e and clear of comb ustibles. Wh en installin g, never enclose the bottom of t he griddle with a raise d curb or other constru ctions that would obstruc t flow of air into or out of the griddle.
GRIDDLES MOUNTED ON STANDS WITH CASTERS Griddles mou nted on s tands with c asters mus t use a flexible con nector (not su pplied) that complies with the Standard for Co nnectors for Mova ble Gas Appliance s ANSI Z21.69•CSA6.16 , and a quick -disconnect device that complies wi th Gas Fuel, ANSI Z21.
GAS PRESSURE REGULATO R INSTALLATION Gas regulator p ressure is preset at 5” Water Column (W .C.) for nat ural gas, and 10 ” W.C. for propane ga s. No further adjustme nt should be required. Install the re gulator as clos e to the griddle on the gas su pply line as possible.
- 7 - OPERATION WARNING : THE GRIDDLE AND ITS PARTS ARE HOT. USE CARE WHEN OPERATING, CLEANING OR SERVICING. BEFORE FIRST USE The griddle is ship ped covered with a protective coating. R emove this film only when the griddle pl ate is being cleaned prior to it s first coo king use.
USING THE GRIDDLE To preheat, turn th e burners on about 20-2 5 minutes before cooking. A uniform and sy stematic ap proach to lo ading the gr iddle will pro duce the most consiste nt product re sults. The griddl e plate is steel, but the surface is relative ly soft and can be scor ed or dented by careless use of a sp atula or scraper.
- 9 - CLEANING THE GRIDDLE Empty the gre ase drawer as needed th roughout the day an d regularl y clean at least on ce daily. Clean the grid dle regularly.
- 10 - ADJUSTMENTS LEVELING 1. Place a level on t he griddle. 2. Adjust leg s by turning the bullet feet a t the bott om of each le g. Using plie rs or a crescent wrench, turn th e feet counte r-clockwise to i ncrease height, and clockwise to decrease height u ntil leveling is achiev ed.
- 11 - MAINTENANCE WARNING : THE GRIDDLE AND ITS PARTS ARE HOT. USE CARE WHEN OPERATING, CLEANING OR SERVICING THE GRIDDLE. LUBRICATION All valves and therm ostats must be chec ked and lubricated p eriodically. Check with your Service Agency for details.
