User Guide 1.6 CARTRIDGE INST ALLA TION Shake the print cartridge from side to side to distribute the toner e venl y . Holding the print cartridge by the handle, insert the car tridge into the printer until it clicks into place. Close the top co ver securel y .
User Guide 1.7 LO ADING P APER 1 2 Loading Paper Pull the paper tra y out. Press the bottom plate until it locks into place. Pinch the Rear P aper Guide and adjust to the length of the print media. F or legal or folio size paper , press the tab do wn and pull the rear wall all the w ay out, to adjust tra y length.
User Guide 1.8 LO ADING P APER Load paper . Ensure that the paper is placed beneath the metal corner guide. If using pre-printed paper , load paper with the print side facing do wn. Adjust the Side Guide to lightl y touch the paper . Insert the tray back into the printer .

User Guide 1.14 MUL TI-PURPOSE TRA Y PRINTING Multi-Pur pose T ray Printing The Multi-Pur pose Tra y (Manual F eed) is to be used as an alternate paper source for printing onto special print media. Pull open the Multi-Pur pose T ra y (front panel). Pull out the Multi-Purpose T ra y Extension.
Load en velopes, with the flap do wn, against the left edge of the tra y then slide the width guide on the right against the en velopes. When printing on special media, open the rear output tra y co ver and pull out the paper support extension.

User Guide 1.18 TROUBLESHOO TING 1 2 Clearing Paper J ams Inside the Printer Open the top co ver and remo ve the print cartridge. Once the print car tridge is remo ved from the printer , be careful not to expose it to heat or direct sunlight. Carefull y lift up the guide feed and gentl y remo ve jammed paper .
User Guide 1.19 TROUBLESHOO TING 1 2 Clearing Paper J ams in the Output Area If the paper is almost completel y visible, gentl y pull paper to remo ve. If the jammed paper is not visible or there is resistance when y ou pull the paper , open the rear co ver .
User Guide 1.20 TROUBLESHOO TING Gentl y remo ve the jammed paper . Refer to “Clearing Paper Jams Inside the Printer” if unable to remo v e the paper . Replace and secure the exit roller and reattach the vin yl strap. Close the rear co ver . Open and close the top co ver to resume printing.
1.21 Installing Optional Memor y Go to the back of the printer . T ur n the printer of f and disconnect the po wer cord and printer cable. Remo ve the tw o outer screws and the control board co ver . Install the memory SIMM, at a slight angle, into the slot labeled “DRAM Module”.
User Guide 1.22 INST ALLING OPTION AL MEMOR Y Push back on the SIMM until it clicks into place. (Make sure the SIMM is secured in place b y the metal clips.) Replace the side co ver and tighten the tw o outer scre ws. Reconnect the po wer cord and printer cab le.
