PoE-80 User’s Guide 9 1 About Y our PoE-80 The PoE-80 Ei ght-port Po wer over Ethe rnet Hub is an eight-port power inject or, designed for use with 10/10 0 BaseT Ethern et networks. The PoE-80 i njects DC p ower through t he unused twisted- wires (pairs 4/5 and 7/8) of a standard 8-pin CAT 5 cable.
PoE-80 User’s Guide 10 2 Hardware and Inst allation Do not block the device’ s rear panel fans or the side p anel v entilation holes. Leave sp ace bet ween devices when st acking. 2.1 Desktop Inst allation Step 1. Set the PoE-80 upside-down on a sturdy level space with a po wer outlet nearby.
